The secret of the stones
History as a school subject is often not very popular because the curriculum is not attractive to everyone. Some people will say: ‘It's not my cup of tea’. What about you? Are you interested in history? What were your favourite subjects at school? I personally didn't like this subject.
I vaguely remember us talking about prehistoric man, but it wasn't until I went to Brittany that I really got an idea of what life might have been like in prehistoric times. This is the case when you find yourself in the middle of landscapes or in front of the remains of monuments that people of the time erected to honour their dead, like the covered alley at Lesconil, for example. I believe that today there are fantastic opportunities to learn about this science without getting bored: there are reports, podcasts and, of course, books. But the great thing is to use the curiosity that we might feel in front of such a building or monument to continue to engage with it.
So it all started for me in South Finistère, where it is easy to come across traces of the past: Here, a walk gives you access to prehistory, the Gallo-Roman period or the Middle Ages. There is also a podcast about the secret of the stones...
